Syler graduated from kindergarten in June. The ceremony was pretty simple, they sang a couple of songs that were super cute and each student told what they had learnt in kindergarten and then they were presented with a certificate. Syler said he learnt how to tell what pictures meant.
I cant believe he is already done kindergarten, time sure goes by fast!!
I have really enjoyed watching him learn and mature. He has grown to be a lot more social since the beginning of the year, which has been both exciting and exhausting as he is constantly wanting to play with friends. He also can read beginner books now and is quite proud of himself for that. He has started to gain a little more confidence as far as learning new things, at the beginning of the year he really shyed away from that but he embraces it a little more freely now, I am super happy about that!
Having him in kindergarten has also taught me a lot! I have had to learn to let him spread his wings a little more, but also that it is still okay not to let him do things that I am uncomfortable with, regardless of whether other kids are doing it. I also had to learn how to deal with other mothers in different situations, some of which where a little out of my comfort zone. So it has been good.
Laiken really missed Syler while he was at school but he also really enjoyed the one on one time he got with me. Its funny since Syler has been out of school when Laiken is getting sick of Syler he tells him that he should go to school. It makes me laugh!
I am so proud of the boy Syler is growing into and I sure am enjoying having him home for the summer! I think grade 1 is gonna be a big adjustment for us!
