Carely's Baptism

My beautiful neice Carley got baptized this past Saturday. She is the oldest of all of the cousins in my family... and therefore the first baptized. It was so special! It has been a really long time since I've attended a baptism and I LOVED it. Seeing her all dressed in white and in the baptismal font with her dad, what a special moment, I have to admit it brought a few tears to my eyes! I honestly wanted to just freeze time and savor the feeling. I wish I had more memories of my own baptism, the few I do have I hold close to my heart.

I am so proud of Carley for making the decision to be baptized. What a huge responsiblity it is to be the oldest, sibling, cousin... anything really. Always having to do everything first and having everyone watching and learn from you. She does such a fantastic job and there is no dought in my mind she is meant to be the eldest, she does such a great job... she is so much like her momma! I love her to peices and I hope that she will continue to have a desire to make good choices and do what is right. She is the sweetest, most tenderhearted girl I know! We are so lucky to have her in our family and appreciate the example she is to her younger siblings and cousins.
Love you Carley Bean!!!

Easter

Bare with me as I try to catch up with my blog...

Decorating Easter Eggs

Easter Egg Hunt and Gopher Hunting at the Cabin

Color Run

One of the things we were super excited to do in Arizona was the Color Run. We had heard so much about these races and couldn't wait to do one. However it was POURING cats and dogs. We still participated, but the kids had to stay bundled up under the stroller.

We could only keep Laiken contained for so long, eventually we had to take him out cause he was dieing to participate in the party.

Syler on the other hand would not leave the stroller. We tried to get him to come out, just for a picture, and he was not impressed!

We were disgusting by the end of it all. But it was a lot of fun even with the rain.

Rainforest Cafe

Unfortunately it rained a lot when we we were in Arizona it was raining so we went to the Rainforest Cafe to eat then shopped for the afternoon at one of the outlet malls.

I have never eaten at a Rainforest Cafe and wow what an experience.
It was so cool, but there were so many distractions it ended up being impossible to get the kids to eat anything at all. Laiken loved the elephants and every 15 minutes or so they would start trumpeting and moving so we had to go over and see them.

Just before we left the restaurant I took Syler to the bathroom cause his stomach was upset and on the way he threw up all over the floor. Poor guy... and poor mom we dealt with a lot of puke on this trip!

Speedy Gonzales

We felt like last year was the year of broken boats. We spent a LOT of time paddling with skis, and waisted a lot of time trying to fix things we had no idea how to fix... Which then turned into more money into our boat. So Dahlin decided we needed to upgrade. We found a good deal in Edmonton and thought it would be a perfect opportunity to go visit Alli and Stephen. So we loaded up our boat and headed up to Edmonton. Unfortunately a mere hour into our drive we realized it wasn't going to be quite as simple as we had envisioned. Someone flagged us down while driving up Deerfoot telling us something was flapping on our trailer. So we pulled over in the ikea parking lot and realized that our trailer was indeed broken. Worst news ever when you are on your way to trade your boat in.
we got on the phone and found a welder in hopes they could fix it. We did eventually find a guy, who so generously took two hours outta his day to try his best to fix our trailer. Soon enough we were off again, unfortunately by the time we reached Red Deer we had already lost 1 of the 3 screws he had used to secure the piece holding the "fixed" part together. Did I mention I had just gotten off a night shift and was suppose to be sleeping the whole way... Didn't happen! We inched our way to Edmonton and into the dealership. Obviously we were a little grumpy by this time, and the service was the WORST service we have ever received. If we hadn't just driven 7 hours with a broken trailer I am sure we would not have made the deal, but there was no way we were taking our boat home again. So we now own a newer Malibu waterski boat... It is seriously almost the exact same as the old one but newer. So hopefully this year we will be able to spend more time playing behind the boat and less time trying to fix it!

The boys thought watching the guy fix the trailer was pretty entertaining

Syler and Laiken seem thrilled with the new boat and had to bust out a few moves.
They are so cute!

Syler and Laiken swimming

Anyone who has ever spent time with Syler and water knows he is TERRIFIED of getting water on his face. Since Weston has been staying with us the boys have been making a habit outta going swimming the nights that I work. This past Tuesday we decided to all go together. And holy cow, Syler was amazing! He was swimming around all by himself (with a life jacket) and he even was jumping off of the rope swing. He never went all the way under, but he still has made so much progress! I am so, so proud of him!! I had to run and grab my camera just for proof! Laiken also does amazing as he isn't afraid of the water at all. We have to watch him really close because he will just jump in, even if your not paying attention to him. They are both basically amazing ;)
