Skiing at Pine Coulee

The boys have gotten sick of waiting for it to get warmer out and so they decided to start skiing. We are normally skiing at Tie by this time but never before have we skied this early in our lakes. They have been going out to Pine Coulee in the mornings, it is freezing!!! I think they are both obsessed and a whole lot nuts to be doing it! 

Laiken and I went with them for their first time just to make sure no one got hurt jumping into the cold water. 

It was entertaining!

Florida

Dahlin is turning 30 this month so I decided we needed to do something big. He wasnt interested in having a party or anything like that so I decided to take him to Florida to go skiing. We planned it for the weekend after tax season so that we could recuperate a little after the crazyness of it all. It was so nice to get away for a weekend and spend some time in the sun and away from the kids ;)

May 1st

Every year we await May 1st like Christmas!! This year was particularly bad as the weather sucked so bad and Dahlin worked longer hours than any previous year, capping out at 92 hours one week. So for May 1st we decided to take the kids to the zoo. It was a nice day and the kids loved it! Laiken was particularly funny this time as he got so excited about each animal, squealing and jumping around. Syler is always fun as is genuinely interested in learning about each of the animals. 

The boys favorite were the penguins and the hippos. We timed the hippos perfectly as they were lying in the sun and then the zoo keepers called them for lunch so they got up and swam right by us. It was all very exciting. Hippos are huge!!
