My boys

One thing that I have really resented since my mom died is not having her here for parenting advice. There are so many things that I have wanted to ask her and so many situations that I would like to know how she handled, or what her feelings where
Growing up my family was very isolated. We have a huge extended family which we love and know that they love us. However being the only members of the church on either side has always isolated us, then moving to Magrath brought us further together. We learnt to love each other and play together when we were little and we have carried that on with us as we aged. i love my family, I love the structure of our family.  Each of us siblings shares a strong bond and to this day we all have strong relationships with each other. It doesn't matter whether we are sisters or brothers, or whether there are 2 years between us or 12 we just genuinely like each other.
Since becoming a mom and having 2 boys for some reason I have gotten caught up in the want of a little girl. I always felt like I would end up left out as my children aged without a girl. I worried that my boys would get into boy things and I would be all by my lonesome. Lately however, I have started to recognize qualities in my boys from my childhood. They genuinely love each other. And when they look at me I know that they love me more than anything in the world. No matter how boyish they are as they age I know there will always be room for me in there lives.

I feel so lucky to be their mom!!

First loose tooth

Yesterday was a big deal in the Sabey house hold. Syler lost his first tooth!! He noticed it was loose Thursday and seriously spent the next day and a half wiggling it until it literally just fell out of his mouth. It was the perfect scenario because he had talked to some of his friends at school and they told him how much it hurt when they lost their first tooth and that it bled a lot so he was super nervous about the whole thing. Anyways he was thrilled when there was no pain and no blood.

We decided to make a special little pillow for Sy to put his tooth in for the tooth fairy.
Syler was a pro and pretty much sewed the entire thing, with a little guidance of course... which is funny since I hardly know how to sew at all. But it actually turned out to be a great afternoon and the pillow looks fantastic.

March

I have been so bad at taking pictures ever since the new year, I was planning on taking more picture with my big camera as soon as I finished my 365 days of Biz's boys on instagram, but i am afraid  to say I mostly just stopped taking pictures all together. So I guess that was a fail. I am planning to do better! In the mean time I feel like I should still blog about some of the changes that have happened since the new year.
I started a new job in February working at Respiratory Home Care Solutions, a oxygen and Cpap home care company in Lethbridge. I work every Tuesday and Wednesdays. It has been a big adjustment for the family as the boys have to go to day care now, and Dahlin is responsible for the boys more now then he was prior to this. But I am starting to enjoy it quite a bit, it is a total change of roles for me. I work in an office all day and have appointments fitting people with different CPAP mask and adjusting their machines... it is most definitely not as exciting, but it is kinda nice not to go to work everyday wondering what kinda crazy situation I am going to be thrown into and not to be surrounded by death as much. Hopefully I will continue to like it and not get bored with it.

We have been working on potty training with Laiken. I really have been putting it off and had no intention of doing it right now, but one day he just decided he was ready and pushed his stool up to the toilet and went pee. There was really no going back from there, so we have been working on it ever since. He does super good when he is naked, which consequently is all the time when we are home, but as soon as you put anything on his, underwear, pullups, pants he wont go to the potty. So I find myself at a little bit of a lull with the whole thing, when we are at home he is 100% potty trained, as soon as we leave the house he is 0%. So we will continue to work on it.

This past weekend we went out to Magrath for Grandma and Grandpa Cooks mission farewell. They are leaving tomorrow for Martins Cove where they will spend the next 6 months. I am sure it will be an awesome experience for them and I would love to visit! I have always been fascinated with the whole hand cart experience. It is however through the entire summer and Dahl doesn't think there are any lakes close by... so we will see if we actually make it.

Other than that we are eagerly awaiting spring. We had 1 week of beautiful weather and enjoyed it as much as possible but the past two weeks have been filled with snow and cold, which at this point is becoming extremely disheartening.
PLEASE come soon spring, or we might just all go crazy!!

Here are pretty much all the pictures I have taken over the past couple of months,
