6 months
Huxley is 6 months old now. He is such a sweet boy!!! My biggest complaint about him, up until now, was that he didnt sleep. He didnt sleep at night and he didnt sleep during the day. He would have like 15 minute cat naps during the day, but that was it. He was still pleasant, but he was always over tired. This last month or so I have really focused on trying to get him in a good schedule and we have spent way more time at home, both of which seem to help! He now takes three naps during the day which range from 45 minutes to 2 hours to about depending on the day. He is sleeping much better at night as well, usually only waking up a couple of times, Not every night is perfect and every now and then he does still have really bad nights but it's more unusual now. I though he was always happy, but now that he is sleeping more he is SO SO happy! He smiles all the time and really likes to coo and laugh!
We started him eating real food about 2 weeks ago, so far he has eaten rice cereal, bananas, avacodo, kiwi, yogurt, and potatoes. He hasn't really loved anything until today. He devoured his rice cereal. He also really loves to drink water!! I am still trying to nurse him, but he does drink bottles for the majority of his feedings. Usually I can only nurse him once during the day and a couple of times in the night otherwise I just don't make enough milk.
He loves to play in his jolly jumper still as well as his walker. He is really good in his walker and can maneuver anywhere upstairs. He will follow me around reaching for me whenever he gets close. It's so cute, and also kinda mean on my part, but it is the only way I can get anything done.
He travels like a champ!! Often times he will stay awake for the hour drive to or from Lethbridge just cooing or sitting quietly looking out the window or watching his brothers.
He hates laying on his back and is constantly straining to sit up the entire time he is in his back. He can sit without assistance now. And when he is on his belly he can scoot backwards, but not really forwards. He reaches for objects and can pass them from one hand to another. I think he really wants to be a big kid! He watches his brothers so intently and seems like he wants to participate so badly!
He has the cutest little whimper cry. He usually does is when he wants to be picked up or if he isn't feeling well. Of course when he gets going he has a full out cry but it's not that often that we hear it.
We still swaddle him for sleep, and I still give him a soother. If I catch him at the right time I can just swaddle him and give him his soother and put him in his crib and he will fall asleep on his own. Otherwise he will need to be rocked for a bit to help him fall asleep. He isn't as good at this as Laiken was though, but we are working on it!
He loves to be talked to by anyone and almost always rewards you with a smile.
He still has his orange hair, which I hope hope hope stays! It is starting to fill in a lot and is definitely longest on the top still. His eyes are still bright blue too, which I also hope stays. He is a very handsome baby if I do say so myself.
here are a couple of pictures of him from the last 6 months,..
